Zounds was founded by Sam Thomasson, an Engineer and entrepreneur who has spent his career developing new technologies in the medical device and consumer electronics industries. Sam is also the father of a hearing-impaired daughter and has witnessed the problems associated with today’s hearing aids. Sam promised his daughter that he would develop a hearing aid to address the key problems common with other high-end hearing aids. Zounds’ breakthrough technology is the fulfillment of a father’s promise to his daughter and the solution for dissatisfied hearing aid users around the world.
To showcase the quality of their products, Zounds developed an innovative sales approach for their direct response marketing: let the products speak for themselves, and leave the call to action until the end of the spot. The overwhelming success of their products required a call center partner capable of handling call volume spikes, maximizing the revenue of each call, and providing cost-effective staffing while maintaining Zounds reputation for high quality, customer centric service.
Zounds’ corporate directive is to provide effective marketing solutions to their franchise locations at a price point that allows them to efficiently fill their available appointments with interested buyers. The client was looking for input from UNO as to how to enhance their program of supplying appointments to their franchise locations as a value add to their franchise package.
To provide the best solution for our client’s stated needs we devised an implementation plan that included a blended platform to manage the inbound calls driven from their current direct response marketing efforts as well as an outbound voice campaign to targeted potential customers to extend brand recognition and reinforce more traditional marketing efforts.
UNO created a target profile of the ideal candidate required to be successful on this project which drove the recruiting effort. All training curriculum was created internally and designed to ensure a high level of understanding of the dynamics involved in the hearing healthcare industry and how ZOUNDS was best suited to meet the needs of its customers while efficiently managing the blended platform.
With the approach taken by our team we were able to increase the efficiency of the utilization of our agents to provide the most cost effective solution. After launching the full spectrum of the program we able show an increase of over 100% over the client’s internal team. This achievement allowed ZOUNDS to include our service as an additional value add to their current franchisees as well as to increase the value of the future franchise package.
